One of my most formative experiences has been working on a local farm in Concord, Massachusetts during the summers, planting and picking produce, taking care of the crops, and selling what we farmed at various local markets. These 4 photographs, each 6” x 9”, are taken at the Fort Greene Farmers’ Market, combining the familiarity of something I know well with the discovery of a brand new city — coming to New York City from Concord was one of the best decisions I have ever made, and still, it’s comforting to return to what I know. These photographs, taken in the glowing light after heavy rain, show the relief of the market as they return to business as usual after the downpour, and they mirror my relief of knowing that no matter where I go, the experiences I’ve had and the things I’ve learned will help me to do what I love.
