My name is Veronica de Oliveira Castro, and I am currently a sophomore at Pratt Institute where I'm majoring in History of Art and Design. I'm minoring in Photography, as I have always been drawn to the tactility and artistry of black and white film photography in particular. I also have an interest in fashion, as I use it in my personal life and my art as a means of self expression. Though most of all, I have been passionate about Art History all my life; to me, it’s a living, breathing record of everything people have ever valued or wanted to express. In addition to its historical value, it continues to inspire people to create – it’s a cycle of adoring imitation and repurposing of historical ideals that I find myself drawn to continuously, within my own art creation and through watching it happen in the contemporary art world.
